SCOPE OF WORK
Under the authority of the Marine Operation Superintendent, is responsible to organize and perform FPSO deck operations (cargoes, bunkering, and waste management), lifting operations and deck crew management.
He / She controls application of safety procedures on deck and helideck. He/She is the designated Helicopter Landing Officer.Managing a team of 4 people (1 Deck Foreman, 1 Crane Operator and 2 Deck Helpers) the Deck Supervisor / Lifting Specialist has for main missions :
Deck operations
- Store management: control consumable levels, prepare and maintain inventories of the equipment under his responsibility (helideck, refuelling, bunkering, lifting equipment etc….);
- Supervise, coordinate, and manage the Deck Foreman, Crane Operator and Deck Helpers;
- Carry out all documentations recording for the complete activity through FPSO data files;
- Monitor the functioning of systems placed under his responsibility;
May be requested to act as Boat Landing Officer.
Lifting
Is the lifting focus point on board the FPSO.
- Approve and review “Routine and Simple lifting plans” and refers to the Block Site Lifting Supervisor for other lifting;
- Prepare and verify all lifting equipment prior lifting operation (condition and certification);
- Plan and supervise the lifting operations on board according to site’s procedures;
- Ensure that FPSO cranes are safely and efficiently operated;
- Supervise the safe slinging and rigging of equipment;
- Plan and calculate load capacities to ensure that all loads are lifted within the safe lifting parameters of cranes;
Must be knowledgeable in all facets of crane operations and safety procedures;
- Ensure and follow up all rigging equipment are properly stored, maintained and ensure that a register and quarantine process are in place;
- Support the lifting certification inspector during lifting equipment certification;
- Plan the placement and storage of tools and equipment in order to maximise storage and deck load capability.
Bunkering
- Prepare and verify all bunkering equipment prior bunkering operations (condition and certification);
Is in charge of bunkering (water and DO) operations on deck in coordination with Control Room operators and according to client’s procedures.
Waste management
Is in charge of waste management on deck:
- selective sorting and collection of wastes;
- management of waste skips in liaison with the Logistic Supervisor;
- preparation of waste skips manifests;
- issuance of daily, weekly, monthly waste reports.
Helicopter operations
Acts as Helicopter Landing Officer and is in charge of refuelling operations
SKILLS & BACKGROUND
Work experience
- Minimum five (5) years experience in the Deck Operation Supervision on oil and gas production installations or three (3) years as crew master or bosun on board sea-going vessel
- Supervisory experiences : must have proven ability as a Supervisor of a team
- Experience in Oil & Gas Industry is required (working in hazardous area, ATEX concept)
- Proven record of achievement within deck operations
Technical skills
- Technical knowledge of lifting equipment found offshore (offshore cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, slings, etc.).
- Ability to perform operational lifting plans and risk analysis.
Certifications
- Banksman and rigger certificate (Crane Operator certificate is an advantage)
- Forklift licence
- Helicopter Landing Officer and Helicopter Refuelling Certificate
- BST/HUET or BOSIET
Languages
Fluent spoken and written English (French and Portuguese is an advantage)
